"The people that we talked to--and it was a wide spectrum of business people, working class people, ranchers, and small-town merchants--I heard very little of the ideological food fight that we see played out here on the New York/Washington access on a daily basis. It doesn't mean they don't have strong political beliefs. But they're so busy trying to put their lives in order now and finding ways to get out of this economic downturn we're in, that they frankly don't have time for that."
