Start a Band, Get a Radio Station

Tom Breihan, of Pitchfork, tells us that Weezer are getting their own online radio station. It's what you might expect: songs that Weezer wrote (or like listening to) playing all day with commercials interspersed. Other artist-focused stations featuring the Eagles or Christina Aguilera will follow.

It's yet another wrinkle in the music industry's on-going identity crisis. Ten years ago, streaming audio online was a nightmare and wave radio, though a corporate teeny-bopper mess, was still thriving. Then Napster happened and the industry is still recovering from the schizophrenic breakdown.
